A few days ago, the BMW Group announced its 2020 financial report. The group’s total revenue was 98.99 billion euros, pre-tax profit was 5.222 billion euros, and the pre-tax profit rate was 5.3%. Among them, the total revenue of the automobile business was 80.853 billion euros and the pre-interest and tax profit was 2.162 billion. For the Euro, the EBIT margin was 2.7%, reaching the original target of the EBIT margin of 0-3%.
In terms of sales volume, the BMW Group delivered 2,325,200 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce products to customers throughout the year. Specific to each brand, the global cumulative sales of the BMW brand are 2.0288 million, the cumulative sales of the MINI brand exceed 290,000, the cumulative sales of the Rolls-Royce brand are 3,800, and the cumulative sales of BMW motorcycles are 169,300.
In the Chinese market, the BMW Group has achieved a further breakthrough in sales. Despite the impact of the epidemic, it will still deliver 777,400 BMW and MINI brand cars throughout 2020, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%.
In terms of new energy and electrification, the BMW Group's total global sales of electric vehicles in 2020 was 192,600, a year-on-year increase of 31.8%, of which the sales of pure electric and plug-in hybrid models achieved growth of 13% and 40% respectively. In the European market, electric vehicles account for 15% of total deliveries.
In mid-2020, the BMW Group has set sustainable development goals for the next ten years, taking sustainable development and high-efficiency resource management as the core of its corporate development strategy, and is committed to providing customers with the "greenest" electric vehicles. BMW plans to reduce the average lifetime carbon emissions of a bicycle by at least one-third compared to 2019 by 2030, and achieve the goal of accumulative sales of electric vehicles exceeding 7 million. At present, after the BMW iX3 was launched in China in the fall of 2020, it has been launched on the European market in the first quarter of this year. In 2021, the pure electric models BMW iX and BMW i4 will be launched on the market.
