       A few days ago, some media reported that the first model under the new high-end smart car brand created by Changan, Huawei and CATL will be launched in 2021. The new car will be built based on the Ark architecture, or positioned as a medium-sized pure electric SUV, with the internal code name " E11".

        Judging from the latest news, Changan's newly developed carbon fiber-aluminum alloy hybrid structure body is expected to be applied to the "E11" model to improve the lightweight performance of the body. According to another source, Changan has now conducted an open recruitment of suppliers for the E11 project assembly assistance manipulator equipment.

        As early as September, there was news that “E11, as Changan New Energy’s first self-owned high-end brand pure electric project, has a large demand for test vehicles and a very tight delivery time.”

It is reported that after the new car is launched in the future, it will compete with high-end electric SUVs such as Weilai ES6 and Tesla Model Y.

        At the Changan Automobile Brand Day held on November 14, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said: "Changan Automobile will jointly build a new high-end smart car brand and high-end products with Huawei and Ningde Times."

       The official also released a new brand LOGO and brand new positioning, and demonstrated the "Ark" product architecture. At the same time, Zhu Huarong announced that in the next five years, Changan Automobile will release 105 models, including 23 new energy vehicles.

       At present, traditional independent brands have launched high-end new energy brands one after another, striving for brand breakthroughs in the era of electric vehicles. For example, Great Wall Motor plans to establish a new independent brand of smart electric vehicles, which is named "SL Project" internally; SAIC Motor also recently launched the "Smart Auto", focusing on the high-end pure electric market of more than 300,000 yuan.

        With the increasing number of entrants, competition in the new energy vehicle market will become more intense. Whether independent brands betting on the high-end market can break through, the industry will wait and see.
