On December 12, local time, according to the US Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC), it obtained an internal Tesla email showing that Tesla had notified employees of its Fremont, California plant on Friday , The factory’s Model S and Model X production lines will be closed from December 24 to January 11.

According to the financial report for the third quarter of 2020, Tesla reported that only about 11% of the models delivered in the first three quarters were Model S and Model X, and most of them were Model 3 and Model Y models.

Another Tesla email obtained by CNBC shows that the demand for the company's products is still "much higher" than the supply. Obviously, consumer interest in Model 3 and Model Y continues unabated.

Tesla said in a related email that workers on the relevant production line will receive a full week's salary, several paid holidays, and "limited paid opportunities" for working with other teams. Tesla encourages it to seek shift work on the Model 3 and Model Y production lines during the remaining unpaid days, and even encourages volunteers in other departments of the company.

But for those who wish to take their time off to rest, there are still five days of unpaid leave.

This situation is also emerging in the Chinese market. Since the delivery of the domestic Model 3 in the first quarter of this year, Tesla's sales in China have increased significantly. According to data released by the Federation of Travel Services, in November this year, Tesla Model 3 sales in China reached 21,604, an increase of 78% from October.

In the first quarter of 2021, Model Y will also welcome domestic production in China. By then, Tesla's sales in China may once again usher in a substantial increase.
