Jiangling Automobile intends to expand the market of new energy vehicles.
On December 11, on the interactive platform, Jiangling Automobile was asked by investors to increase the introduction of Ford's fuel-powered passenger vehicles, trucks and new energy vehicles this year and next, and suggested that it increase investment in new energy vehicles and pickup trucks. In response, JMC said it will continue to develop new products, including new energy vehicles, according to market demand.
At present, Jiangling Automobile is mainly engaged in the commercial vehicle market in the field of new energy vehicles. There are three models of Karee EV, Teshun EV and Yuhu EV on sale.
In the field of new energy passenger vehicles, Jiangling has no products for sale.
At present, new energy vehicles have become a development trend, and show the characteristics of high-end. Compared with the first-tier Chinese brands such as Dongfeng, Geely, Great Wall, etc., or existing new energy passenger vehicle products being sold, or high-end electric brands being released, or high-end electric brands being prepared, Jiangling Automobile lags behind in the layout of new energy electric vehicles.
JMC's sales are mainly supported by commercial vehicles and its sales base for passenger vehicles is small.
November sales data showed Jiangling sold 38,100 vehicles, up 46.07 per cent year on year.
Sales of JMC trucks rose 74.49 percent to 14,400 units in November from a year earlier. The sales volume of Jiangling Light passenger reached 11,900 units, up 48.65% year on year. Sales of Jiangling pickups rose 22.73 percent to 7,094, compared with 5,780 units in the same period last year.

Jiangling has said it will focus on light commercial vehicles, suVs as support. It intends to introduce strategic investment to strengthen heavy card business by selling 60% equity of Jiangling Power, and the transaction price is expected to be no less than 359.98 million yuan.
JMC said it would introduce strong strategic partners for JMC to jointly expand the heavy-duty engine business through equity trading.
