The total number of cars sold next year will exceed 27 million.

        In December 2020, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and China Automotive Strategic Development Research Center of Tianjin University published Medium - and Long-term Forecast of China's Automobile Market (2020-2035).

         According to the report, the monthly sales of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and the total sales of both will reach 2.223 million, 386,000 and 2.619 million respectively in December 2020. Sales of basic passenger vehicles (sedan), multi-purpose passenger vehicles (MPV), sport utility vehicles (SUV) and crossover passenger vehicles can reach 1 million units, 161,000 units, 1.038 million units and 34,000 units respectively.

         In terms of the overall market, the sales volume of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles in 2020 is expected to be 22.291 million and 4.264 million respectively, with the total sales volume of the two estimated to be 26.555 million.

        The sales volume of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles in 2021 are expected to be 22.908 million and 4.319 million respectively. Combined sales are expected to be 27.227, 000 vehicles.

         From the perspective of market segments, the sales volume of basic passenger vehicles (cars), multi-purpose passenger vehicles (MPV), sport utility vehicles (SUV) and crossover passenger vehicles in 2020 can reach 10.25 million units, 1.444 million units, 10.218 million units and 378,000 units respectively.

         In 2021, the sales volume of basic passenger vehicles (passenger cars), multi-purpose passenger vehicles (MPV), sport utility vehicles (SUV) and crossover passenger vehicles can reach 10.177 million units, 1.509 million units, 10.914 million units.

         China's auto market is expected to reach 30 million vehicles by 2025, fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said at the 2021 China Auto Market Development Forecast Summit.
