Faw sold 354,504 cars in October, up 6.8% from a year earlier.

      On the evening of November 9, FAW released the production and sales data of October, which showed that it produced 341,323 vehicles in that month, with a year-on-year growth of 12.0%. Sales were 354,504 units, up 6.8% from a year earlier.

In the first 10 months of this year, FAW produced 2,979,465 vehicles, up 9.7% year on year. A total of 3,011,248 vehicles were sold, up 7.8% year-on-year.

In the self-owned brand camp, red flag and liberation continue to be good.

In October, Hongqi produced 19,837 vehicles, up 86.0% year on year. Sales of 23,018 vehicles, an increase of 93.6% over the same period last year, have exceeded 20,000 units for three consecutive months.

The red Flag brand sold 153,000 vehicles in the first 10 months, up 103% from a year earlier. Hongqi brand sales target is 200,000 units this year, so far has completed nearly 80%.

Ren Wanfu, senior auto analyst, said that hongqi products have been expanded to H5, HS5, HS7, H7, H9, etc., and a preliminary product matrix has been formed. The price of Hongqi products is down, and H5\HS5 is down to 150,000-250,000, becoming the main sales force. While retaining the red flag elements, the appearance and configuration of products are more fashionable and scientific, which are more in line with the preferences of current consumers. A combination of factors has boosted red flag sales.

Jiefang Brand produced nearly 38,000 vehicles in October, with a year-on-year growth of over 32%. Nearly 35,000 vehicles were sold, a year-on-year increase of nearly 20%.

In the same month, The Pentium brand produced 3,358 vehicles and sold 4,931 vehicles, showing a relatively mediocre performance.

Looking at the joint venture sector, FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota are still the main sales force.

Faw-volkswagen produced 206,019 vehicles in October, up 14.4% year on year; Total vehicle sales were 220,574, up 5.6% from the same period last year.

Faw Toyota produced 65,935 vehicles, up 5.4% year on year. Sales of 65,057 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.

Faw Mazda produced 7,088 vehicles and sold 5,007 in October, down 41.27 percent from a year earlier.

         Mr Ren said faW Mazda, which has only two models on sale, the Atz and CX-4, was in a weaker position in terms of product mix and sales compared with Changan Mazda. But he believes that as FAW group improves its internal position in Mazda, its follow-up should be to boost sales by enriching its product line.
