Lutz to develop new ultralights EV platform

Publish Date: 2020.10.06

Lutz has received financial support from the UK government to develop a new electric vehicle platform, overseas media reported.

The project, called LEVA (Light Electric Vehicle Architecture), is not an architecture for a super-electric sports car, but to create a versatile and flexible platform for a variety of electric vehicles. The platform will be developed in collaboration with sachin Industries, a lightweight engineering firm, and academics from Brunel University, London. Lutz said it will release more details of the LEVA platform to the outside world in due course.

"This is great news for our industry and its transition to electrification," said Matt Windle, Lutz's executive director of engineering. As a partnership between Lutz, Sasskinson Industries and Brunel University, London, with a large pool of talented people involved, we are pleased to have started work on the project.

"Lutes Evija"

It is reported that Lutz will launch a new model in 2021, which is also the first new model launched by The Brand in the past 12 years. The new car will be built on a new platform, powered by a V6 petrol engine hybrid system. In addition, Deliveries of Luters' Evija, a supercar, will begin in the middle of next year.

Editor's Comment:

As a niche brand focusing on pure sports car manufacturing, Lutz has gained greater operational flexibility after being acquired by Geely Group. Especially after the Evija model opens a new chapter of the brand, Lutz keeps creating new products to bring more surprises to consumers. Now, Lutus also to electric transformation, its future development is worth our attention!
