The integration of the brand public relations department of FAW Group into Hongqi Sales Company may help increase Hongqi sales.
On September 10, some media reported that the brand public relations department of FAW Group had merged with Hongqi Sales Company, and Chen Xu, general manager of FAW Hongqi Sales Company, became the "top leader" after the merger.
Caijing.com Auto contacted the relevant person in the brand public relations department of FAW Group to verify the above matters, and the other party said that it has not received relevant notices.
As of about 10:40 am on September 11, public information on China FAW's official website showed that the brand public relations department of FAW Group and Hongqi Sales Company (marketing center) are still parallel departments and have not been merged.
According to people familiar with the situation, in addition to the integration of the Public Relations Office into the FAW Group Party Committee Office, the relevant functions have been merged into the sales company.
Some people in the industry said that if the merger is true, the purpose may be to improve the efficiency of the Hongqi sales company and help achieve this year's sales target.
On September 9, FAW released its September sales data. The output was 303,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%; the sales volume was 314,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 14%. Among them, the production and sales of Hongqi were 22,000 and 21,000 respectively, an increase of 90.9% and 109.8% year-on-year. In the first eight months of this year, the cumulative sales of the Hongqi brand were 109,000 vehicles, an increase of 108% year-on-year, and the same period last year was 51,000 vehicles.
The sales target of Hongqi this year is 200,000 vehicles, and the current completion rate is about 54%.
If the set goal is to be achieved, it means that approximately 91,000 vehicles need to be sold within four months from September, and 22,750 vehicles need to be sold every month.
From the perspective of the overall auto market, according to the statistics released by the China Automobile Association on September 10, the production and sales of automobiles in August were 2.119 million and 2.186 million, respectively, up 6.3% and 11.6% year-on-year. The recovery trend is obvious. Hongqi's completion of the annual target provides a market opportunity.
Some believe that the integration of the brand public relations department and the Hongqi sales company will help improve communication efficiency, respond to market changes more quickly, and help complete the annual sales target.
