Hyundai Motor Recalls 568,576 Parisi SUVs

Publish Date: 2026.02.02

According to Autohome, Hyundai Motor recently announced a recall of 568,576 Palisade SUVs due to potential issues with the third-row side air curtains failing to effectively restrain passengers' heads during collisions. The recall covers Palisade models from 2020 to 2025, marking the second recall for this model after a previous safety-related recall involving seat belts last September. It is suspected that the affected vehicles are the same batch as the previous recall, but official confirmation has not yet been released.

According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a 2025 Palisade failed to prevent the head movement of a third-row crash test dummy from exceeding the specified limit during routine compliance testing. NHTSA promptly notified Hyundai Motor regarding this issue. From April to December 2025, Hyundai Motor and NHTSA conducted multiple rounds of compliance testing, ultimately confirming that the third-row side curtain airbag in the model had a defect, failing to secure the head position of third-row passengers during collisions.

Currently, Hyundai is still developing a repair solution for the airbag defect. Once the repair plan is finalized, Hyundai will notify affected owners and instruct them to visit local dealerships for free repairs. The brand will reimburse all out-of-pocket expenses incurred by owners to address the issue. Before the formal repair plan is announced, owners concerned about their vehicles being included in the recall can verify their eligibility by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA website.
