Recently, General Motors has been granted the Shanghai Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Testing Qualification License and will conduct L4 level road testing in designated demonstration areas. It is reported that the local team of General Motors and Momenta have jointly created an autonomous driving solution for the Chinese market that has the potential for large-scale implementation and can be seamlessly integrated with the Ulium Ultrapower platform.

　　The first phase of this road test is planned to take one year. As a test vehicle, the Cadillac LYRIQ Ruige will be equipped with this L4 autonomous driving technology and will conduct road tests in the Shanghai Jinqiao Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Demonstration Zone.

　　Generally speaking, autonomous driving road testing can help car companies and autonomous driving companies better understand China's road scenarios, regulatory requirements, and people's driving habits, accelerate the development and delivery of solutions suitable for the Chinese consumer market.

　　The focus of road testing is to evaluate the environmental perception ability, execution ability, emergency response ability, and comprehensive driving ability of autonomous vehicles, in order to determine whether autonomous driving technology meets expectations and operational standards.

　　Earlier this year, Hyundai Motor China Forward Digital R&D Center equipped with L4 auto drive system vehicles also passed the review and won the license in Shanghai, opening the phased test of the localization of modern auto automatic driving in China. As more and more car companies carry out L4 autonomous driving road tests, this intelligent competition that will continue for many years will become increasingly fierce.
