Ford recalls 730,000 vehicles

  In a Feb. 16 notice to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford said some 2015 to 2017 Mustang models had damaged or loose camera wiring, a defect that could have caused images on the screen to appear. deformed or become blank. NHTSA said the defect was caused by a damaged wiring harness and insufficient soldering inside the camera. Loose wiring harnesses and joints could cause related components to lose electrical conductivity, resulting in a missing rear view image.


  The company also said in the notice that it has received two reports of minor collisions related to the defect, but so far, the company has not received reports of injuries related to the defect. The wiring harness that caused the problem on some models was discontinued in 2017, and the recalled rear-view camera was discontinued in 2015, Ford said.
