BMW 5 Series gets off to a strong start

  Thinking back to the beginning of BYD Han's launch, some people in the industry were not optimistic about its market prospects; but relying on its own product strength, the sales volume in the first month of listing reached more than 1,000 units, and then it went up all the way, and quickly exceeded the 10,000-unit mark.   At the same time as the long-term performance of fuel vehicles, BMW's 5-series new energy models also ranked fifth in the market segment. Data show that in January, sales of 5 Series new energy models were 3,787. In addition to the sales of gasoline version models, the share of BMW 5 Series is as high as 32.53%, accounting for almost one-third of the domestic C-class car market.

  

  In contrast, the two "compatriots" from Germany, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6L, did not perform as amazing in the market, but they were still normal. Data show that in January, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6L sold 13,460 units and 10,450 units respectively, ranking second and fourth respectively.

  

  The reason why it is difficult for BBA to occupy the top three positions in the C-segment car market as before is that the rise of its own brands has brought them certain challenges. As a brand in the field of new energy, BYD continues to maintain the top four pattern of "ABB+B" with the outstanding performance of Han. Data show that in January, Han sales were 12,781.

  

  Looking back at the beginning of BYD Han's listing, some people in the industry were not optimistic about its market prospects; but relying on its own product strength, the sales volume in the first month of listing (July 2020) reached more than 1,000 vehicles, and then it went up all the way, and quickly in the market. 4 months later (November 2020), it exceeded the 10,000-unit mark.

  In stark contrast, the SAIC Audi A7L, which officially joined forces with FAW-Volkswagen Audi at the beginning of this year, has the halo of the highest-level domestic flagship sedan of the Audi brand, and at the same time has invited the top streamers of the entertainment industry as SAIC Audi cars.   As the first domestically produced model of SAIC Audi, both Audi and SAIC have high hopes for the Audi A7L; but in this domestic C-segment car market known as the "spire", although the Audi A7L has the power of Audi brand products It has endorsed SAIC Volkswagen's system, but whether it can stand the test of product strength, brand strength and marketing strategy, at least it has not yet been clearly shown.

  

  In 2016, SAIC Volkswagen officially launched its flagship model, the Hui Ang, to the market, hoping to promote the upgrade of the Volkswagen brand. For SAIC Volkswagen, Hui Ang has indeed made up for the lack of Volkswagen brand in flagship models to a large extent, and also met SAIC Volkswagen's needs to enhance its brand image.

  

  However, the reality is that Hui Ang's market performance deviates significantly from the original expectations. The data shows that in the whole year of 2021, the sales volume of Hui Ang is 7,036 vehicles, with an average monthly sales volume of less than 600 vehicles; in the past January, the sales volume of Hui Ang was only 604 vehicles. Such a dismal sales volume is enough to show that Hui Ang failed to stand out in the C-class car market, which is full of masters. Now, with the A7L launched by SAIC Volkswagen and Audi, can it save the face of both parties?
