Weichai Torch Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), formerly known as Zhuzhou Xiangtorch Spark Plug Co., Ltd., was founded in 1961 as Lukou Internal Combustion Engine Parts Factory, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agricultural Machinery, and later renamed as Zhuzhou Spark Plug Factory. It was listed in Shenzhen in 1993 with the stock name "Xiangtorch" ； In 2002, Xianghuo Automobile Group was established and Zhuzhou Xianghuo Spark Plug Co., Ltd. was separated; In 2005, Weichai Power absorbed and merged Hunan Torch. In 2021, due to the company's strategic development needs, it was changed to Weichai Torch Technology Co., Ltd. as a wholly-owned subsidiary with independent legal personality under Weichai Power.
The company is located on the banks of the Xiangjiang River, in Zhuzhou, a transportation hub and industrial hub in southern China. It is the core circle of Hunan Province's Zhuzhou Tan Rongcheng. The company has a convenient geographical location, with Huanghua Airport and Wuhan-Guangzhou High Speed Railway in close proximity. The Beijing Guangzhou, Zhejiang Jiangxi, and Hunan Guizhou railway lines are adjacent to the surrounding areas. The 106 and 320 national highways, as well as the Beijing Zhuhai and Shangrui expressways, surround the urban area, with thoroughfares on all sides and smooth access in all directions.
After more than sixty years of development, the company has now developed into a professional research and development, production, and ignition system manufacturing base for spark plugs, mainly producing multiple varieties and fields of spark plugs, while also independently researching and manufacturing high-voltage wires, ignition coils, automotive water pumps, water seals, automotive generators, automotive filters, and other products. The company has successively passed ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality system certifications, ISO14001 environmental certification, Ford Q1 certification, and SAIC General QSB certification, with strong quality assurance capabilities. The "Torch" spark plug has won the National Quality Silver Award, and the "Torch" trademark has won a famous trademark in Hunan Province. Currently, the company is a secretariat unit of the Spark Plug Subcommittee of the National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee, with independent research and development, production technology level of iridium, platinum spark plugs, multi side electrode spark plugs, V-groove center electrode spark plugs, surface jump spark plugs, gas spark plugs, industrial spark plugs, ignition rods and other products, We have diversified manufacturing technology for automotive parts products such as high-voltage wires, ignition coils, generators, automotive water pumps, and automotive filters. The company vigorously promotes intelligent manufacturing and is a demonstration enterprise of intelligent manufacturing in Zhuzhou City.
In 2009, the company passed the high-tech enterprise certification and was awarded the honorary title of Excellent Supplier by multiple host factories. The company provides support to major domestic OEMs such as Shanghai General Motors, Changan Ford, Shenyang Mitsubishi, and other key manufacturers. The market share of host support is over 50%. The series of products are sold to more than 50 countries and regions such as the United States, and have entered the global sales and after-sales system of General Motors in the United States. The leading product spark plugs are matched by numerous domestic and foreign manufacturers of automobiles, motorcycles, gasoline engines, and gas engines, and are a mainstream supplier of spark plugs for domestic mainframe, after-sales, and export markets. In addition to automobiles, spark plug products are also widely used in motorcycles, small gasoline engines, national large-scale oil fields, gas power equipment, etc. The product and market structure is that exports account for 30%, host supporting accounts for 40%, and maintenance and after-sales services account for 30%.
In order to continuously enhance the competitive strength of national brands and seize the global market opportunity, the company has continuously increased its investment in technology and established multiple advanced automated professional production lines. At the same time, the company has fully introduced the manufacturing technology of GM Company in the United States, including the AC automatic assembly line of Delphi Company and the Boda automatic assembly line of Boda Company. In 2006, the company fully acquired the Delphi spark plug production factory in the United States, and introduced a complete set of production equipment, technology, and patents, rapidly improving its comprehensive competitiveness.
The company focuses on technological research and development, and has a professional spark plug research and development institution at a high level in the same industry - Spark Plug Research Institute. In order to follow the development trend of international spark plugs, the company has hired experts in the United States and Japan to provide technical guidance and services, and to strengthen the company's research and development capabilities. Especially with the introduction of iridium and platinum spark plugs in recent years, the company has become one of the few manufacturers in the world that has mastered the production technology of iridium and platinum spark plugs, has pilot production capacity, and is compatible with the host machine. In 2013, the "Key Technology and Industrialization of Platinum Iridium Spark Plug" project won the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
In 2013, the company produced T95 high-performance ceramics in bulk, taking a successful first step in ceramic technology innovation to meet the higher challenge of spark plug ceramics for the new generation of engines.
In 2014, the company successfully passed Ford Q1 certification and became a globally recognized supplier for Ford. In the same year, a modern spark plug product testing center covering an area of 500 square meters was established, which is a fully functional spark plug testing center.
In 2016, the company successfully passed the QSB certification of SAIC General Motors and became a globally recognized supplier for SAIC General Motors.
In 2017, the company's testing center successfully passed the certification of the National Accreditation Service (CNAS) expert group, becoming a CNAS recognized laboratory, marking that our company has fully possessed the ability to conduct spark plug national standard testing.
In 2018, the company's T95A high-performance ceramic intelligent production line was successfully put into operation, which is not only an improvement in production capacity and technical level, but also an important measure for our company's products to move towards high-end and achieve high-quality development.
In 2019, the company's "Composite Alumina Insulator Spark Plug and Its Manufacturing Method Patent" won the first prize of Hunan Patent; The development project of spark plugs for turbocharged direct injection engines has won the second prize in Hunan Province's Science and Technology Progress Award.
