SAIC Huawei collaborates to create the first SUV under the "Shangjie" brand, with an estimated starting price of 180000 yuan

In February, SAIC Group and Huawei Terminal signed a deep cooperation agreement, announcing the joint creation of the new new energy intelligent vehicle brand "Shangjie". According to the latest news, the first model of Shangjie brand is expected to be officially launched in 2025, with a price range of 180000 to 250000 yuan, aiming to overturn market perception with the golden combination of "SAIC high-end manufacturing+Huawei full stack intelligence". According to insiders, the first model of "Shangjie" is positioned as a mid size intelligent SUV and adopts a joint development model:


  Manufacturing end  : relying on SAIC's pure electric exclusive platform with an investment of over 20 billion yuan, ensuring the industry's top level of three electric systems and vehicle quality control;


  Intelligentization : Equipped with Huawei ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system and the latest HarmonyOS 4.0 car infotainment system, it achieves a leapfrog experience of "national map free NCA+over 10000 ecological applications";


   Cost Control  : By leveraging Huawei's modular technology output and SAIC's supply chain advantages, we achieve cost balance in high-end configurations such as LiDAR and 800V high-voltage platforms. For Huawei, "Shangjie" is a key springboard for its intelligent car solutions to shift from "technology empowerment" to "market harvesting". According to estimates, the price range of 180000 to 250000 yuan accounts for over 40% of China's new energy vehicle sales. Successfully entering this range means that Huawei's BU annual shipment volume is expected to exceed 500000 units, far exceeding the current scale of high-end vehicle models. For SAIC Group, this cooperation marks a strategic shift from "rejecting Huawei's soul theory" to "actively embracing full stack cooperation". With the help of Huawei's intelligent halo, SAIC's intelligent manufacturing capabilities will gain higher premium space, especially in building a differentiated moat in the fiercely competitive mainstream market.


As the mass production of "Shangjie" enters the countdown, Huawei's ecosystem will completely open up the mainstream market, avoid internal resource allocation conflicts within HarmonyOS, and maximize the help of Huawei's core technology to form a disruptive effect at the level of car manufacturers and consumers. If this model works, Huawei may reconstruct the power map of the trillion dollar automotive market as a dual identity of "technology supplier+ecological operator".
