One day, a tech guru from a car company asked the boss: 'That collision test mainly tests the driver's side, but why don't we just' make it easy 'on the passenger side?'?
Then, the boss threw out such a sentence of soul torture ↓
As soon as this statement was made, the entire company had a clear understanding of the boss's pulse: our company is willing to invest in safety.
Like many new car startups, this boss only drives his own cars, and employees who can afford to drive their own cars are also proud to drive their own cars. Since I am also a user, every seat is filled with my own family members, and I am not fooling them by promoting "exam oriented education" for safety.
By the way, I didn't say this company is called Ideal Automobile. If I guessed it, it was entirely because of your intelligence~
Fortress safety body
On May 5-7, the Ideal Car Safety Day event was held at the R&D headquarters in Shunyi, Beijing, showcasing Ideal's 360 ° comprehensive protection of every member in the car through technology.
This car body is named "fortress safe car body". Although the word fortress is widely used in luxury SUVs, it is OK to use it again. After all, the ideal is to build a safe fortress for the purpose of building a car body.
Ideal L8 body in white
This set of white body is marked with materials of different strengths in different colors. Red represents hot-formed steel, yellow represents ultra-high strength steel, dark gray represents high strength steel, blue represents soft steel, and light gray represents aluminum. By the way, although you can see that the door knocker is all blue, you can see the hot formed steel+ultra-high strength steel structure located inside the cabin through the inside.
The torsional stiffness of the ideal L8 body reaches 30938N · m/deg. The proportion of high-strength steel in white cars is over 75%, and the proportion of hot-formed steel is 28.9%. Regarding high-strength steel, different manufacturers have different definitions of this strength level, and the reference significance of this data is relatively ordinary; However, there is no ambiguity in the use of hot-formed steel. This material is made by hot pressing and has a high cost. The 28.9% data also has a relatively high gold content.
In terms of materials, the ideal L8 material is very abundant, and the white body has a good foundation first.
The A, B, C, D columns and top cover crossbeams of the Ideal L8 are heavily made of hot-formed steel. At the same time, the larger critical section size and circular force transmission path can effectively disperse and absorb the top compressive load, giving the vehicle a stronger resistance to deformation.
As a luxury SUV, the Ideal L8 not only has ample space, but also has ample collision and collapse space between the body and chassis structure. The ideal L8 has a carefully designed "deformable zone" to ensure that the body absorbs energy fully after a collision and to ensure that the cabin area is as deformed as possible.
In order to ensure battery safety, the Ideal L series models are equipped with comprehensive protection for the battery system. The high-strength aluminum alloy battery box is placed in the collision safety zone in the middle of the chassis, and is protected by double longitudinal beams, crossbeams, and threshold beams, effectively avoiding the impact of front, side, and rear collisions on the battery. Secondly, the special anti support bottom design of the entire vehicle chassis can effectively block the scraped substrate in advance, and high-strength aluminum alloy double-layer bottom protection plates and composite materials can also effectively protect the battery cell and liquid cooling system when the chassis is subjected to impact.
In terms of battery design, the Ni6 system battery cells used in the Ideal L series models not only have high energy density and high output power, but also fully ensure the safety of flame retardancy and fire prevention. The battery pack effectively isolates and exhausts heat from the battery pack through the application of new fire-resistant materials, along with reserved specific smoke exhaust channels, ultra large displacement explosion-proof valves, and emergency strong water circulation systems, ensuring no open flames.
As of the end of April this year, Ideal Automobile has delivered over 330000 new cars in total, and there have been no safety accidents caused by thermal runaway or fire in the power battery system.
Refusing 'exam oriented education'
When it comes to exam oriented education, we are really familiar with it. From dealing with exams in school, to pouring fuel into flagpoles in driving schools, and then to "collecting fuel when you see the probe" after driving on the road
Regarding collision testing, the Ideal Car has come up with design standards that far exceed the testing requirements.
In the latest test results released by China Insurance Research Institute in April, the Ideal L8 received the highest rating of G (Excellent) in terms of passenger safety index, pedestrian safety index outside the vehicle, and auxiliary safety index. Especially in the non standard test project of 25% bias collision test on the passenger side, it also received a G rating, becoming the SUV model with the best performance in China Insurance Research Institute collision test.
