  Since its launch in 2018, as of March 2023, the cumulative sales of the next-generation NIO ES6 have reached 127000 units, making it the sales champion among pure electric SUVs with an average price of over 350000 yuan. This glorious achievement can be interpreted from two aspects:

  

  Firstly, the ES6 is the first truly widely accepted model by Volkswagen consumers, both in terms of sales and reputation. And most consumers also start to truly understand and understand the NIO brand from the ES6 car. Compared to NIO's first mass-produced model ES8, although ES6 is not a flagship model, its smaller size and pricing that is more in line with the mass consumer group have always been NIO's main selling model.   In terms of the product itself, the market competition for medium to large pure electric luxury SUVs today is much more intense than when the first generation NIO ES6 was launched, which also puts forward more and more stringent requirements for the ES6.   Taking the all-new ES6 of NIO as an example, NIO's second-generation design language, with a tower like sensor layout and perception components perfectly integrated with the body shape, not only meets the hardware requirements of the era of intelligent cars, but also leads the design style of the era of intelligent electric vehicles. The more than 10 special wind resistance optimizations carried out throughout the vehicle have resulted in a wind resistance coefficient of only 0.25Cd, which will further improve energy efficiency and performance.

  

  In fact, the exterior design has always been the proudest part of NIO, and NIO's all-new ES6 is not ambiguous. The iconic X-Bar design elements, Shark Nose front face, integrated lampshade, Double Dash two segment daytime running lights, black roof design, pure flat side windows... all of these elements together, you can feel the continuation of the previous model on this body, and also see the implementation of the new design language by the design team.

  Of course, the more obvious difference is in the proportion of the vehicle body. The entire vehicle has a length, width, and height of 4854 x 1995 x 1703 mm, with a wheelbase of 2915 mm. This means that it has a longer wheelbase, wider body, and lower height than the previous generation ES6. Coupled with the iconic double waistline design, the all-new NIO ES6 weakens its previous administrative driving experience, achieves a more dynamic body posture, and is more distinctive in its own characteristics.

  

  In addition to these, more minor details are the upgrades and modifications made by NIO to its own products. A finally completed change is that the charging port has been moved to the left rear of the car, supporting the intelligent induction opening of the home charging station, and being waterproof and dustproof, undoubtedly increasing the convenience of use for large SUVs like the ES6.

  It should be said that by choosing to embark on the path of luxury brands, NIO may have entered the Hard model of car manufacturing from the beginning, which means they need to compete with more top tier companies in the automotive industry.   On the all-new NIO ES6, we still see a full range of comfortable configurations and luxurious atmosphere. The advantages brought by a wide body body are self-evident, and the spatial optimization brought by the reasonable layout in the cabin further enhances the overall sense of luxury: we have already mentioned that the height of the new ES6 body is reduced by 55mm compared to the previous generation, but the actual riding situation is that the front headroom in the car has been increased by 14mm, and the rear headroom has also been improved by 75mm, making the riding experience even better.

  Each change may seem like just a simple interpretation of NIO's latest product, but don't simply interpret this upgrade as a misappropriation of other similar models. Even if traditional car companies are not alone in producing new energy vehicles of their own brands, there are a series of popular models such as the Ideal L8, Avita 11, Zhiji LS7, Wenjie M7, and Xiaopeng G9 that are causing trouble.   In the face of such a situation, NIO also needs to have more killer weapons. In this, there are not only the returns brought by NIO's continuous research and development investment in intelligent cockpit and advanced assisted driving, but also the feedback brought by NIO Power system that NIO has been committed to building, and the good reputation that has been replaced by the "nanny like service" that many people do not understand.

  

  Taking the intelligent cockpit as an example, the adoption of the PanoCinema new generation panoramic digital cockpit on the NIO all-new ES6 has comprehensively improved the user experience of the vehicle and cabin, and can even be equipped with N-Box enhanced entertainment host options, supporting multiple person AR large screens, paired with NIO Air AR glasses to bring an equivalent 6-meter maximum 201 inch giant screen, matched with 7.1.4 immersive sound and Clean+acoustic fabric masks, What it brings is indeed a performance of the T0 level of the "third space" force.

  In terms of intelligent configuration, the all-new ES6 from NIO comes standard with Aquila super sensory system and ADAM NIO supercomputing platform. The Aquila Super Sensing System includes 33 intelligent hardware components, including 1 1550nm LiDAR, 7 8 megapixel cameras, 4 3 megapixel surround cameras, 5 millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, 2 high-precision positioning units, 1 vehicle road collaborative perception, and 1 enhanced driver perception. The ADAM NIO supercomputing platform includes four NVIDIA Drive Orin X chips, with a total computing power of 1016 TOPS. ISP can process 6.4 billion pixels per second, and also has a 32GB/s ultra high bandwidth data network and independent and complete redundant backup chips. This will mean that with the gradual improvement of advanced assisted driving in future cities, the all-new NIO ES6 will become one of the most outstanding models in this regard.

  In my opinion, in the current era of smart cars, the upgrade of classic car models for appearance, space, and configuration is only a small and even negligible part.

  

  Unlike previous model upgrades that focused on improving design, today's smart cars require more upgrades and supplements to their intelligent hardware during upgrades. The rapid replacement speed of intelligent cabins and advanced assisted driving has surpassed our understanding and forced more car companies to continuously improve their product upgrade and iteration speed.

  

  In terms of establishing NIO Power and creating a lifestyle and service system, NIO always adheres to its original intention. Even though this part is not understood by some people and some enterprises, what we see is that more people are accepting and praising them, and becoming supporters of NIO, becoming ES6 car owners.

  

  From any perspective, the NIO ES6 can be seen as a benchmark in China's pure electric luxury cars. It should be said that what we need now is not just a star product that can make a splash. On the contrary, as Chinese cars enter the true golden age, we even need those "evergreen tree" models that can become our "Camry" and "Accord".

  

  At least, on this issue, NIO ES6 has taken a solid step forward: this is a small step for NIO and a big step for China's pure electric vehicles.
