Publish Date: 2022.06.09

Volkswagen Group brand Skoda will restart the delivery of semi-bulk parts (SKD) to its Ukrainian production partner, according to foreign media reports.

Skoda has announced that the company will deliver the first batch of 80 SKDs, which will be assembled at the factory of its partner Eurocar. "Whether the output of the Solomonovo plant can increase will depend on the progress of the situation in Russia and Ukraine," the company said.

Eurocar assembles the Superb, Kodiaq, Karoq and Fabia Combi sedans for the local market. After the escalation of the situation in Russia and Ukraine, the Solomon Wo plant suspended production work. Skoda's plants in Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga, Russia, remain suspended.

Recently, Skoda also announced that it will produce its own wiring harnesses at its factory in the Czech Republic. Previously affected by the situation in Russia and Ukraine, the supply of wire harnesses from Ukraine was affected. Czech cable harness manufacturer PEKM Kabeltechnik installed the necessary production equipment in an assembly shop provided by Skoda.

The assembly work is carried out by 35 female employees from PEKM Kabeltechnik's factory in Ukraine, who will also be responsible for training new employees. Skoda said in a statement that production of cable harnesses for the Octavia, Kodiaq, Kuroq and Superb models will begin in the coming weeks.
