Based on the data from China's leading defective automobile product information collection and automobile consumer complaint information acceptance platform Vehicle Quality Website, a total of 11984 domestic SUV quality complaints were received in the fourth quarter of 2025. According to the data from the China Federation of Vehicles in the fourth quarter, the sales volume of domestic SUVs (excluding imported vehicles) in the same period was about 3.386 million, covering 358 models. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data, only the first quality complaint cases of 358 models are counted this time. It is calculated that the average sales ratio of SUV quality complaints in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 24.8 per 10000, which falls sharply compared with the third quarter, and the overall quality performance is accelerated.

Car quality network adopts the "Complaint Sales Ratio" evaluation system to analyze domestic SUV products in the fourth quarter of 2025. Based on statistics, the average sales volume of SUVs in China in the fourth quarter was 9458 units (average monthly sales volume was about 3153 units). Among 358 models supported by sales data, 108 models exceeded the average sales volume, making them popular SUV models in the fourth quarter. Among them, 71 models outperformed the domestic SUV quality complaint sales ratio of 24.8% per 10000 in the fourth quarter. They have a good reputation among the domestic popular SUV models, and the product quality is better than other SUV models in China. In the same period, SUV market sales realized year-on-year growth for three consecutive quarters, with sales reaching the peak in the year in the fourth quarter, up 11% year-on-year and down 7.9% year-on-year. By contrast, small SUVs have seen the smallest drop and complaints remain high. In contrast to the general downward trend in complaints, all but the smaller SUVs and compact SUVs experienced positive year-on-year sales growth during the quarter. Among them, medium and large-sized SUVs took the lead, up 88.3% from the third quarter. In addition, the mid-sized SUV has ushered in a milestone breakthrough, with sales hitting one million again a year later, up 8.6% year-on-year. In the fourth quarter, the proportion of Japanese brands in the list increased by 2.5% compared with the third quarter. In the same period, the proportion of self-owned brands still maintained absolute leading, with a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. By contrast, German brands did poorly this quarter, reducing their share by 3.4 percentage points to the bottom of the year.

Data highlights: the overall quality performance of the daily brands in this quarter is better than that in the third quarter, which not only increases the number of models on the list, but also makes obvious progress in the ranking of some models, and more than two models are in the top ten of the list. Seen from the brands listed, Geely has a particularly outstanding performance. It successfully took over Great Wall Motor, with a total of 8 models entering the list, becoming the most popular brand in this quarter. Chery also performed well, with 6 models on the list, but the ranking was generally lower than last quarter. For specific models in the list, Xiaomi YU7 successfully topped the list by virtue of excellent market performance. The sales ratio of quality complaints was the same as that of the previous quarter, and the short-term quality performance was remarkable. GAC Toyota Bozhi 3X, launched in March 2025, achieves steady performance in the list for three consecutive quarters. This quarter has a high light moment and the ranking jumps to No.4. It successfully leads all J&V brands in the list. The quality performance of continuous progress is worthy of recognition. What's more, the brand new model H5 launched at the end of September 2025 ranks top three by virtue of its outstanding quality reputation and market performance for the first time. Hopefully it will continue to be maintained. There are also some models in the four quarters list that do not perform well compared to the improved quality performance of some models. Among them, the most representative one is Link 900, ranking from the 11th to the middle and lower reaches of the list. Affected by the double factors of increase in complaints and decline in sales volume, the quality performance has a significant decline compared with the third quarter. In addition, Dongfeng Fengshen L7 also fell out of the top ten list this quarter, and the sharp decline in sales was the main reason for its ranking decline. Looking at the traditional luxury brands in the list, the overall performance forms a sharp contrast with the list of cars. Only 4 models were included in the list in this quarter, 1 model was reduced compared to the third quarter. To be specific, Volvo XC70 plug-in hybrid launched in September 2025 shows a remarkable performance, ranking significantly ahead of the other three BBA models, and successfully entering the top 20 of the list. In addition, although the ranking of BMW Brilliance X5 is almost the same as that of the previous quarter, the sales ratio of quality complaints has fallen back to the single-digit range and the quality performance has improved.g.
