According to the 402nd batch of new car declaration list issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, multiple popular domestic cars such as Geely Xingrui, Changan CS75, Changan Yidong, and Changan UNI-V are all listed as hybrid models. After firmly establishing themselves in the new energy market, domestic car companies that do not want to lose their dominance in the gasoline and hybrid markets are making a comeback, once again challenging Toyota's dominant position in the hybrid market. The competition among domestic luxury cars to "return to their roots" in hybrid electric vehicles is not a new thing, but it is indeed relatively rare in domestic car models. Geely's China Star series is currently one of the few car series with hybrid models, and both the Star Yue L and Star Rui have hybrid models available for sale.

The latest batch of new car applications from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows that the new Xingrui will continue to offer a hybrid version, equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine model BHE15- BFN, with a maximum power of 82 kilowatts. From the appearance, the hybrid version of the new Xingrui has a "HEV" logo on the rear of the car.

Changan is even more aggressive, directly adding hybrid models to several popular car series such as Changan CS75, Changan Yidong, and Changan UNI-V, all of which have a "HEV" logo at the rear.

Among them, CS75 is equipped with a 1.5T engine model JL469ZQ1, with a maximum power of 110 kilowatts; Yidong is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine model JL469Q1, with a maximum power of 72 kilowatts; UNI-V is equipped with a 1.5T engine model JL469ZQ1, with a maximum power of 110 kilowatts.

After playing plug-in hybrid and extended range for several years, domestic hybrid new cars have begun to "return to the roots" of hybrid electric vehicles. Domestic hybrid vehicles once again challenge Toyota. Several years ago, when electrification was just starting, domestic brands briefly experienced a surge in the launch of hybrid vehicles. Geely, Haval, GAC Motor, and Dongfeng Fengshen all had multiple models equipped with hybrid vehicles, such as Haval Chitu, Dongfeng Fengshen Haohan, and Haoji.

Hybrid models gradually faded out of the new car layout. The road of hybrid electric vehicles is not feasible, and domestic brands quickly shifted their hybrid models to plug-in hybrid and extended range, which is also in line with the trend of electrification and the country's new energy development policies. Nowadays, independent brands that have been honed in the "electric sea" for several years are gradually establishing a foothold in the new energy market and beginning to pay new attention to oil vehicles and hybrid models. Leading independent car companies such as Geely, Changan, Great Wall Motors, and Guangzhou Automobile Group are all walking on both legs of oil and electric vehicles.

Hybrid fuel electric vehicles not only have the advantages of gasoline powered vehicles, but also can avoid the shortcomings of electric vehicles, naturally becoming the first choice for domestic brands to "return to gasoline powered vehicles" and win back gasoline powered vehicle users from the new energy hybrid market. Moreover, the policy of reducing or exempting the purchase tax on new energy will also change next year. It can be foreseen that preferential policies for new energy hybrid models such as plug-in hybrid and extended range vehicles will gradually tighten, and there is a trend for hybrid cars to become the "big shot" again. More importantly, not only new energy vehicles, but also domestic gasoline vehicles have cost-effectiveness advantages, which will naturally exist in future domestic hybrid models. Combined with the advantages of domestic brands in exterior and interior design, intelligence, and comfort, if low-priced and high-end hybrid models can be launched, they will naturally have the strength to compete with Toyota. The next hybrid leader in the Chinese automotive market may be born within domestic brands.
